£500,000 Investment in Cooking and Chilling

Commissioning has recently taken place of a new blast chilling facility in the Silver Hill Cooking plant. This was the final phase of a contract for the installation of a new blast freezer, the new blast chill and an extension to the existing air chill for whole birds. Air chilling is essential for the perfect skin quality and reduced water content that Silver Hill’s customers demand. As demand for cooked product has increased a larger oven was recently installed, tripling capacity. Rapid cooling is an integral part of the process, hence the additional blast chilling installation.
