New Quality Award for Silver Hill

On 28th February 2005 Silver Hill Foods received the Irish Food Writers Guild Award for consistent quality of duck products and for our innovative approach to the development of the whole enterprise.

The Irish Food Writers Guild Annual Food Awards took place in L’Ecrivain restaurant, Dublin where the Awards were presented by Nuala Cullen, Chairwoman, Irish Food Writers Guild and Micheál O’Muircheartaigh, Chairman, Guaranteed Irish.

The Awards, which were sponsored this year by Guaranteed Irish, are now in their twelfth year and have gained a reputation as one of the most anticipated dates in the calendar for anyone with an interest in Ireland’s food industry. These Awards are quite unique in that candidates cannot enter or apply. Products are nominated and judged by the Irish Food Writers Guild, in complete secrecy, for their quality, excellence and consistency.

In 2005 the members of the guild voted to award Silver Hill Foods for the consistent quality of our products and for our innovative approach to the development of our enterprise, for example, our development of new food products and new down and feather products. Our Environmental Project, which represents a unique waste management solution, was also recognised as an important development in Ireland’s food industry.
